Although I followed strict rules about eating throughout my adult life, for over a decade I largely neglected the cooking side of things, which I attribute to my first job at a local clam shack.


On our honeymoon, we stayed at a quintessential Hawaiian resort that spilled right onto the beach, had a view of Diamondhead and boasted resident dolphins in a private cove that would click at the guests, smiling and winking.

Happy Place

My happy place is the beach. Which is weird because it is, by its very nature, dirty. Between the sand and the vermin and the beer bellies and the peeing in the water. You’d think it would make me up my meds.
